grub2 - Change Ubuntu EFI location - Ask Ubuntu

on macbook, ubuntu installs efi in /boot/efi/efi/ubuntu. how can change installation folder /boot/efi/efi/ubuntu0?

in ubuntu, efi system partition (esp) mounted @ /boot/efi. can change mount point editing entry in /etc/fstab; however, doing inadvisable because system utilities , documented procedures may assume esp mounted there, , therefore malfunction if mount esp elsewhere.

note extensible firmware interface (efi) firmware that's installed in chips on computer's motherboard. efi reads files on esp boot (with caveats), not installed esp. what's installed esp boot loader(s) , related files, such grub (grubx64.efi). boot loaders must installed esp, or @ least partition efi can read; installing them elsewhere render them useless.

a caveat: on macs, efi can read boot loaders hfs+ volumes, , apple stores own boot loader on hfs+ volume. defies efi standard, in minor way. third-party boot loaders, including ubuntu's grub, go on esp. in theory, installed hfs+ volume, ubuntu not support configuration.

so, out of way: actually trying accomplish? doing you're asking useless @ best, suspect want accomplish you're not saying.
