live usb - Does non-persistent LiveUSB run entirely off RAM, or does it still need read/write cycles? - Ask Ubuntu

if use liveusb, non persistent mode, -toram command added boot options, usb's lifespan reduced significantly? far understand, liveusb runs entirely off ram, usb not suffer excessive write cycles, right?

the non-persistent liveusb run entirely off ram toram boot option. doesn't use read/write cycles of liveusb.

without toram boot option, tested confirm. pull usb out during session. none of items load after then, including ubuntu dash search. also, when exited out of firefox crashed.

also, shutdown failed complete successfully.

with toram option all test performs normal liveusb removed after desktop loaded.

details adding toram option can found at:
can boot live usb ram, allowing me remove disk?.
