Open new window when clicking Unity launcher icons? - Ask Ubuntu

i realize middle-clicking on launcher icon opens new instance, mouse doesn't have middle-click option (clicking scrollwheel works this, it's cumbersome). workflow tends involve numerous windows programs such terminal , chrome. currently, terminal opens new windows when click launcher icon, chrome , nautilus not.

however, none of these promising. have found other questions wanting do opposite of want do, couldn't determine questions how reverse it.

is there way make unity launcher open new windows programs when left-clicking , not when middle-clicking?

this want:

the easiest thing is:

1. remove existing chrome icon unity launcher
2. open unity dash , make non-maximized

1. type "chrome"
2. drag chrome icon desktop
3. right-click on chrome icon on desktop , choose "properties"
4. modify "command" insert & @ end , close window
5. drag icon desktop unity launcher

you can use folder instead of desktop if have problem it.
