16.04 - Virtualbox cannot create .COM object - Ask Ubuntu


after rebooting of ubuntu 16.04, can no longer launch virtualbox. errors out following error message:

failed create virtualboxclient com object. application terminate. document empty. location: '/home/al/.config/virtualbox/virtualbox.xml', line 1 (0), column 1. /build/virtualbox-xs7cr9/virtualbox-5.0.24-dfsg/src/vbox/main/src-server/virtualboximpl.cpp[534] (nsresult virtualbox::init()). result code: ns_error_failure (0x80004005) component: virtualboxwrap interface: ivirtualbox {0169423f-46b4-cde9-91af-1e9d5b6cd945}

i've tried virtualbox support, need go through ubuntu support. (discussion follows)

is document empty? contents of /home/al/.config/virtualbox/virtualbox.xml?

did host recently, such create new user account?

my response

the .vbox file empty. windows 10 session, name of .vbox file. there windows 10.vbox-prev file, have xml code. tried renaming empty file, , copying prev file windows 10.vbox. when try run it, same error message. when renamed, file change vbox icon. did not lately except apply system updates, required reboot. before rebooting, ended vm session normally, shut down open programs, rebooted. that's when occurred. strange! windows 10. session run on vm, since os ubuntu 16.04 lts, , have software runs on windows. nice solution until occurred.

virtualbox support

also vm log wouldn't go amiss. affected vm do.you can find log in "logs" subfolder of vm folder. compress "vbox.log" (only) zip file. attach zip here.

how troubleshoot here?

remove "virtualbox.xml" file.

lunch virtualbox once again.

virtualbox generate "virtualbox.xml" file self & not responsibility.

make new vm machine , import previous .vdi file

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
