16.04 - cpu fan is always working and the air is hot - Ask Ubuntu


i have moved windows 10 ubuntu 16.04.

cpu fan on in windows 10 because of bios setting air wasnt hot, in ubuntu fan , air hot.

and battery life 2hrs used 4hrs on windows

laptop: hp 15r004ne, have nvidia , using nvidia drivers

installed ubuntu mate 16.04 lts on decade-old desktop. lspci -k shows: 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] (rev c1) subsystem: xfx pine group inc. nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] kernel driver in use: nouveau kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau i wonder nvidia-* driver package need install. thought should nvidia-96 , far checked, there no nvidia-96 package available.
