Inkscape doesn't remember previously opened files - Ask Ubuntu


the "open recent" submenu in "file" menu empty. how can fix this? i'm using inkscape 0.91 on ubuntu 16.04.

i found reason: if switch off "record file , application usage" rid of recent files in dash panel (thats want) , still have recent files in libreoffice, scribus or blender. in inkscape , gimp on other hand recent files remain until next start of computer. have recent files in inkscape or gimp next day, have turn on "record file , application usage" , check @ least "documents" , "pictures". works, have them in unity dash panel (what don't want). that's reason, not solution.

installed ubuntu mate 16.04 lts on decade-old desktop. lspci -k shows: 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] (rev c1) subsystem: xfx pine group inc. nv18 [geforce4 mx 4000] kernel driver in use: nouveau kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau i wonder nvidia-* driver package need install. thought should nvidia-96 , far checked, there no nvidia-96 package available.
