hard drive - HD errors - boot failed again with Ubuntu 16.04 - Ask Ubuntu

boom! morning has happened again... new hard disk bought 2 days ago. :( :(

like previous hard disk, had manually run fsck repair hard disk errors. after ubuntu boots normally.

what's going on?

before had 2 terabytes hd "green label" western digital, bought more reliable 1 terabytes "black label".

i have installed smartmontools also, check new hard disk. tool didn't find error or problem.

i have no idea or should investigate further...

since did smart self tests , found nothing wrong:

try update latest bios version.

check bad ram memtest86+

check cpu errors prime95.

you should visually check motherboard visible issues blown capacitors. psu.

good luck!
