Why are Ubuntu updates faster than Windows updates? - Ask Ubuntu

i switch between operating systems (ubuntu , windows 10 specifically).

when i'm using ubuntu updates window shows , ask me update, , takes little time download , install updates , can continue use system usual.

however when i'm using windows i'm "scared" updates because have wait time use system because of slow updates, , has happened; whatever size of update takes ages compared ubuntu (and other ubuntu-based distros)

why updating ubuntu take little time compared windows systems (supposing updates have same size)?

note: isn't rant or question "why windows takes update" question why ubuntu updates fast.

well since question isn't closed yet , no 1 else has posted answer i'll throw out there.

windows spends inordinate amount of time thrashing around in registry. applications burdened gui sizes larger in linux. code more bloated. .dll's (dynamic link libraries) large (and confusing - dll hell)
