power management - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS: Fan works at max speed on HP Envy 6-1154er - Ask Ubuntu

i tried many different things. spent days googling , trying different steps in intention resolve issue. no success.

i asked issue in question: abnormal fan behavior: sticking , persist on max speed (hp envy 6-1154er & ubuntu 14.04). enumerates several steps tried.

i tried install tlp. installed lmt (laptop mode tools): laptop can't control fan speed after 16.04 upgrade. installed ubuntu 16.04 upgrade. had 14.04 (and issue exists since it's installation). installed 4.6 kernel. so, due have new os decided ask same again seems previous topic won't answered.

possible solution: noticed when fan works on max speed , temperature in range 59-69c (the cpu "cold") if unplug ac power supply laptop, fan's speed gets low should after couple of seconds or tens of seconds.

so, think if able somehow tell lmt or os laptop on battery regardless of it's actual connection power supply, able want: gently working fan. thing left can't still beat. don't want windows back.

q@4xybook:~$ sudo laptop_mode status

gives when ac plugged.

and if it's unplugged

q@4xybook:~$ sudo laptop_mode status ... /sys/class/power_supply/acad/online: 0 laptop mode enabled, active [unchanged]

any ideas?

-- update --

can kind soul tell me: possible make laptop work in battery mode regardless of it's actual state?
