14.04 - Latest mysql-5.5.53 update seems to have broken - Ask Ubuntu


i'm running ubuntu 14.04.5 lts (gnu/linux 4.4.0-45-generic x86_64) , installed update these packages yesterday.

mysql-common 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
libmysqlclient18 amd64 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-server 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-server-5.5 amd64 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-client 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-client-5.5 amd64 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-client-core-5.5 amd64 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
mysql-server-core-5.5 amd64 5.5.53-0ubuntu0.14.04.1

after update, i've got error.

error 2002 (hy000): can't connect local mysql server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysqld.sock' (13)  

so, should do? want rollback mysql 5.5.53 5.5.52!!

please, me!!

solution:

sudo chmod 755 -r /var/lib/mysql
