boot - Booting in insecure mode error - Ask Ubuntu

i've seen answers question before, don't quite mean. don't know stuff unsigned drivers, etc. wondering if should ignore message because it's incorrect or if there wrong. have secure mode enabled in bios, message mean it's not?

error:

if want rid of message insecure boot need enable secure boot. need turn on validation in module mok (machine owner key): sudo mokutil --enable-validation asked enter twice temporary password , after reboot possibility change validation state. if validation enabled no more message insecure boot appears. remember, not able run unsigned drivers: nvidia drivers , virtualbox not working. disable validation type: sudo mokutil --disable-validation , reboot. if disable validation , have in bios secure boot switched on, still not able boot wasn't signed. though ubuntu has validation disable "is seen" bios (uefi) signed because of shim-signed package. shim package while ubuntu booting checks mok state , if validation disabled shows message "booting in insecure mode".

thanks!

if disable secure boot in bios, not see message.

generally speaking secure boot option not improve security of system against modern threats.

the secure boot feature invented microsoft. main idea control os installations. nothing security.

for linux based systems secure boot not make sense. linux has own security features. if have enough control on system install kernel modules, have enough permissions like. secure boot not help.
