uefi - Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't start after installation - Ask Ubuntu


couple of days ago decided install ubuntu 14.04 (64 bit) on lenovo e530. previous ubuntu 14.04 32 bit installed in legacy mode, need 64 bit. i've made liveusb, created partition via gparted , installed ubuntu. can't start because grub suppressed windows boot manager, can't find ubuntu in uefi boot list. tried boot-repair (http://paste.ubuntu.com/23415399/), didn't help. tried tricks mounting partition , update-grub command , other tricks i've found on askubuntu.com. have idea how deal problem? thanks.

your problem seems there's no ubuntu/grub entry in efi's nvram-based boot loader list. problem caused defective efi. recommend try each of following, in order, until 1 works:

  1. check firmware update (most manufacturers call "bios update"), apply it, , re-run boot repair. don't hold out lot of hope help, might.
  2. reset firmware defaults, manually re-apply tweaks you've made, , re-run boot repair. again, may not work, it's worth trying.
  3. if computer new enough, return store refund, since firmware defective.
  4. if far, must apply ugly hack involves renaming boot loader files. there's option on advanced page of boot repair this, called "back , rename efi files."
  5. as last-resort option, install boot loader or boot manager on usb drive , use it. own refind boot manager should work this; there's usb flash drive image can download , write small usb drive.

one more point: boot repair output indicates unable mount partitions, including critical efi system partition (esp). there may one-off explanation this, usual cause use of fast startup and/or hibernation in windows 8 or later. see this page , this one learn how disable these features. there's chance you'll need disable these features make of preceding fixes work (except of course return-to-the-store "fix").

windows - "-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND" when repair certificate store - Super User

i try repair certificate store in windows 10 doing c:\windows\system32>certutil -store -user ‎330000019dba8d5dddb98062a900000000019d "personal" certutil: -store command failed: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 nte_not_found) certutil: object not found. i have double check mmc, certificate details serial number of certificate. still fail repair certificate store. can please help? i getting same error when trying export pfx. turns out had export c:\cert.pfx instead of cert.pfx (it trying export file cert store ( cert:\localmachine\my ).
