software recommendation - Program to make text annotations in PDF files that are always visible? - Ask Ubuntu

i'm looking program can annotate pdf files text such text directly visible.

okular works fine underlining, highlighting, etc. when using okular make text annotation, disappears in popup window.

i want make text annotations show, without having click on popup windows.

is possible under ubuntu?

if use true (editable) pdf annotations, guess have live how pdf viewer (okular, evince, adobe reader, …) displays annotations.

however, if ok annotations ‘baked into’ pdf (by editing pdf , not adding removable/editable pdf annotations) may want have @ pdf editing software xournal. xournal can add highlighting, text annotations, etc.

install via software center

after installing xournal, go “file” → “annotate pdf” , open pdf file annotate. make annotations , go “file” → “export pdf” save result.

note: had uncheck “use xinput” in “options” menu being able annotate – ymmv.
