virtualbox - iPod not recognised in Windows guest on Kubuntu - Ask Ubuntu

i need sync ipod touch (6th gen) on windows 7 guest using virtualbox on kubuntu machine. in process, ipod not getting detected on windows host.

i have installed guest additions on guest os , moreover, ipod detected on kubuntu machine (as 5th gen!).

bus 003 device 006: id 05ac:12aa apple, inc. ipod touch 5.gen [a1421] 

when using ubuntu, issue did not occur , ipod got detected on virtual machine without configuration.

is problem kde plasma? possible perform sync?

here of details system:

os: kubuntu 16.04 (64-bit) kernel version: 4.4.0-45 kde plasma version: 5.6.5 

i have tried many virtualbox versions:

version 5.1.8-111374 extension pack of same version version 5.0.28-111378 extension pack of same version version 5.0.24-108355 (downloaded discover) extension pack of same version 

i answering own question have found solution particular problem.

after rostislav, discovered none of usb devices being recognized in virtualbox itself!

• the extension pack installed.
• the guest additions installed in windows 7 guest machine.
• i had selected usb 2.0 controller in settings.

i needed run sudo adduser yourusername vboxusers (and logout , login again)! installation process of virtualbox did not automatically. this answer helped me solve issue.

if else having same problem, can check if member of vboxusers group or not.

cat /etc/group | grep vboxusers
