encryption - Mounting Encrypted VeraCrypt Drive during Boot - Ask Ubuntu

i have single harddrive encrypted veracrypt in ubuntu gnome 16.04.

i'd use store documents, photos etc, can't redirect home links if drive not mounted @ startup.

the command mount be:

veracrypt --mount /dev/sda1

typically brings gui think if without 1 let me input password in terminal.

is there anyway can during boot? i've far attempting putting line in /etc/rc.local website suggested did not work :(

if it's relevant, i'm booting without splash screen due issue had inputting password unlock /

thanks.

the simple thing i've been doing 5 years simple load in ~/.profile. however, since don't want remount when mounted, check if directory in mount present.

if [ ! -d "/media/data/some_folder" ]; veracrypt /dev/sda7 /media/data fi

you're better off finding better, work now. i'd encourage add truecrypt/veracrypt sudoers list don't have enter root password well. see here: https://askubuntu.com/a/940972/400549
