Package in emacs-25.1.tar.gz - Ask Ubuntu

i'm new user of linux/ubuntu, , i'm still not comfortable notion of packages. actually, i'm trying install emacs 25.1 , try find out package in emacs-25.1.tar.gz (see this website). tell me supposed be?

if want build package on own, informative. wrote out: http://pj.freefaculty.org/blog/?p=328. tarball have not sufficient make package, lacks "debian" directory has package building code. might able compile emacs , install it, won't package.

emacs25 has been discussed. doubt build (discussed here emacs toolbar icons missing in ubuntu-16.10, struggle compile emacs24 , 25), conceptually not difficult: run "./configure" (add arguments), "make" , "make install". gnu software that. made notes on compiling gnu stuff. go here after slide 42 http://pj.freefaculty.org/guides/computing-howto/introterminal-3/terminal-3.pdf).

as said, doubt emacs25 compile, can't compile emacs24, or not when made post. if try, may need install quite few devel packages system. that's usual.

the shortest route "apt-get source emacs24". if find repo emacs25, use instead. these come debian subdirectory guides build.
