partitioning - Partition C disk running Windows 7 in half - Super User

i using windows 7 64 bit on disk c , want split in half not sure how go partitioning it.

i want c drive running windows 7 gets sliced in 2 c partition , d.

how can this? there tool should use split?

in windows 7 don't need third party software resize partitions anymore. can right settings screen. included since windows vista.

to utility, open control panel, , type in "partition" search box you’ll see link show up:

in disk management screen, right-click on partition want shrink, , select “shrink volume” menu.

in dialog enter amount want shrink, not new size, how want "slice off"

when done, have new space left ! can add existing partition, or create new one.
